Our story

Chanrossa is named after an ambitious, challenging peak in the French Alps, and our cairn takes its shape from that mountain. On a mountain, a cairn marks the summit, and it marks the way there. That is the job we take on: help you see where you are going, and build the way to get there.

The team

Nicholas Holroyd

Co-founder, AI and technical development

Nicholas leads our AI and technical development, and he is a rare breed: an experienced software developer who is also a former distillery operator. After working at Strathearn Distillery he completed a degree in Software Engineering, then a master's in Cyber Security, and that operator's knowledge has been built into MasterDistiller from day one. Endlessly curious, he goes deep on any subject until he has worked it out. A keen climber, he enjoys a hard problem as much as a hard climb.

Stuart Blues

Co-founder

Stuart is a Chartered Accountant who keeps us on a steady financial footing and oversees the wider Chanrossa Group, including the Isle of Raasay Distillery. His part in the day-to-day leadership of Raasay, and in MasterDistiller's product development, keeps our work grounded in the problems real businesses face every day. An avid problem solver and systems enthusiast, he looks for the simplest way to reach a complex goal, then gets everyone pulling in the same direction.

Seb Navarro

Growth Lead and Technical Associate

Seb leads our growth and works across product and technology. He has spent many years in the spirits industry and also has a background in software development: a mix of industry knowledge and technical know-how that he brings to both product and business development. Energetic and never short of a fresh angle, he keeps asking how a business could get more from its systems and its data.

Bill Dobbie

Co-founder and Chair

Bill is an experienced and energetic entrepreneur and director specialising in internet, telecoms and technology businesses. He has been a director of multiple technology businesses and is Chair and Founder of the Chanrossa Group, whose premium brands span Spirits and Drinks and Beauty and Wellness. Having built successful businesses through earlier technology booms, he sees the same need today: clear guidance and direction while the ground shifts fast. He brings a founder's energy to it, and real enthusiasm for what AI makes possible.
